These “B” jigs with square fences and adjustable height are intended for making all right-angle joints, namely straight or angled joists on a stringer.
Although not as convenient as with the tilting fence model, it is possible to create angled joints such as rafter-ends on the ridge beam using the “B” jigs.
They are made out of solid steel and are particularly resistant.
Arunda 90° jigs are available with a graduation either in millimeters (mm) or inches (“/in/inch).
Purpose of the system
Arunda is a system for manually making dovetailed wood-to-wood joints to assemble timber frame structures. All you need is a pair of Arunda jigs (one for the tenon and the other for the mortise), a powerful router fitted with the special Arunda bit, and some accessories.
Process

- Using a simple rule, you determine the height of the assembly (for instance: 150 mm / 6″).
- You set the jig fences to the figure corresponding to that height.
- With the lever clamps, you fix the male jig on the end of the timber to be tenoned and the female jig on the beam to be mortised.
- Using the router coupled with the special Arunda bit, you mill the male and female dovetails. Remove the jigs and your joint is ready to assemble!

These solid steel jigs are available in different models and sizes to suit builders' needs: the #50, #80, #120 and #160. The choice of a model is determined by the dimension of the timber most commonly used. The width of the beam is the only deciding factor to select the jig. Each jig model makes it possible to work on a range of timber widths. The bigger the jig, the wider the assembly and the greater the tolerance! It is therefore useful to choose the jig that best fits one's needs in order to ensure the greatest structural integrity of the building. A small beam requires a smaller joint, whereas a large beam calls for a bigger joint for maximum strength. Generally, only one jig model is necessary.
The jigs can be adjusted for various heights of tenon/mortise.
